IDF dedicates Centre of Excellence to the nation

It is indeed a matter of great celebration for the nation as it gets the gift of Centre of Excellence which will cater to enhancing employability factor for the youth.  Graduates churned out from universities and colleges particularly young engineers are not prepared for face the jobs and they are not job-ready.  IDF coming up with EQP (Employability Quotient Programme) to be run at IDF Centre of Excellence will be a great boon for the youth and bridge the gap of employability, expressed Dr. Y. S. Rajan.

Dr. Y. S. Rajan, Distinguished Scientist, Hon. Distinguished Professor, ISRO/ Department of Space was speaking at the launch and dedication of IDF Centre of Excellence to the nation on 16th March 2015 at Bangalore. 

Dr. H. Sudarshan, Hon. Secretary, VGKK/ Karuna Trust appreciated the efforts of IDF towards national development programmes  Wg. Cdr. S. Balasubramanian, Trustee, IDF said, the Centre will concentrate on research, development and innovation. IDF Trustees Dr. C.N.N.Nair and Mr. J. R. Dhanaseelan said the Centre of Excellence will cater to a wide range of social projects.

Dr. A.R.K.Pillai, founder of IDF reckoned the Centre of Excellence as `Temple of Goodness'  as many national development projects will follow from the knowledge hub at Bangalore.  IDF in its diversified role is concentrating on education and employability of the youth.  The Centre of Excellence will be a great boon for empowering the youth of this country through skill development.  It will be a kind of finishing school for the graduates/ engineering students to make them job-ready and enhance their employability. The three-storey CofE at Bangalore will also be a multi-faceted facility catering to different social projects.  (Ground Floor – IDF Bal Gurukul to teach children in the neighbouring area, First Floor – Public Health Research \wing, Second Floor – State-Of-The-Art Training Hall and Third Floor – Women Empowerment, Adult Education Cell.)

Mrs. R. Rajammal, IDF social ambassador and Women Achiever Awardee 2015 said the Centre's initiative in women empowerment projects are indeed praiseworrthy and online training programme will help women folks at different part of the country.


The contributors were presented with a memento of gratitude and the workers were recognized for their services. At this occasion, IDF 185 Bal Gurukul - Shri Visvesvaraya Bal Gurukul was also launched which will run at the centre and students from the neighbouing municipal school will benefit.  The students were presented with books and stationery items at the hands of Dr. Y.S.Rajan and Dr. H. Sudarshan.
 
Indian Development Foundation is a leading national voluntary organization working for health, education and development.  With over three decades of humanitarian service, IDF has 100 health projects, 185 Bal Gurukuls and 12 women empowerment centres spread across India.

People from all walks of life participated at the inauguration function and appreciated the innovative initiative of IDF towards India's development.  Dr. Narayan B. Iyer, CEO, IDF welcomed the dignatories while Dr. S. Franklin, CE, IDF proposed a vote of thanks. Mr. CA. Mathew, Project Manager, IDF compered at the function.  IDF social ambassadors Ms. Tarika, Mrs. Padma and IDF Bal Gurukuls children rendered invocation prayers.
