MY GOSPEL TOUR TO BANGLADESH - Dr Thomas Mathai, AOG, Bombay   - Dr Thomas Mathai, AOG, Bombay.

Picture

All the honor and glory is given to Lord Jesus Christ Who enabled me to visit Bangladesh from 19 Feb to 01 Mar 2015.

When I met the Vice Chairman, Rev. Jonathan Munshi in one of the All India Assemblies of God Conferences In Bangaloe few years back, he invited me to visit Bangladesh where normally nobody visits from India. He told me that only Pastor D. Mohan and Pastor Paul Thangiah from Bangalore visited them few years back. My loving Master miraculously worked to get me a visit visa from Bangladesh Consular General in Bombay.

I took a flight from Bombay (Mumbai) to Calcutta (Kolkata) by Jet Airlines at 0615 hours on 19 Feb 2015. During my journey I met a fellow passenger called Bro Gomez whom I shared the gospel. He really helped me at Cantonment Railway Station. I then caught a local train taking me to Bongaon Railway Station. After reaching Bongaon Railway Station I caught an Auto to the Benapol Border. I had to go through immigration formalities at the Border of India and Bangladesh

Pastor Subhas with his son Alex came to pick me up from the Border of Bangladesh. After travelling 2 hours in the car we reached at Khulna where Rev Jonathan Munshi arranged my stay in one of the Christian Institutions, called Christian Service Society (CSS). I had various spiritual meetings in different locations of Khulna City. I also met the one of the Senior most Pastors of Assemblies of God, Rev Daniel Munshi, father of Rev Jonathan Munshi. Rev Daniel Munshi’s late father Rev Abdul Wadud became a Christian from Muslim background in 1917. Many attempts were made against Abdul Wadud to kill him for becoming a Christian believer. However, God took Bro Abdul Wadud to Calcutta Assemblies of God where he received basic teaching and he became the founder member of Assemblies of God in Bangladesh (then called as East Bengal a part of undivided India).

Bangladesh has about 64 Revenue Districts having a total population of almost 16 crores. There is about 20 percentage Hindus and there is hardly 1 percentage of Christians. There is a remnant of Baptist believers due to the yeoman and zealous ministry started by Late William Kerry. There are about 350 Assemblies of God Pentecostal churches and few independent Pentecostal Congregations. The vast majority of people talk ONLY their mother tongue Bangla Language. Hardly 1 percentage of Bangla population may speak English. I ministered the Word of God in English and there were few translators to Bangla language.

3 DAYS CONVENTION – 25, 26 AND 27 FEB 2015 AT DHARABASAIL – GOPALGANJ DISTRICT – 100 KMS FROM KHULNA DISTRICT

One Brother James has accompanied me to the Convention place called DHARABASAIL. I conducted 2 days Bible teaching on Discipleship and spoke crystal clear gospel for 2 days. God did many miracles and few people have received Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The Christians are generally very loving people especially to the persons coming from outside of their country with gospel. There was also another preached from US namely Sister Tanya. On 28 Feb 2015 morning I left Dharabasail to Khulna. Although there was political turmoil between the ruling and oppositions parties, my gracious Lord Jesus Christ kept me in His mighty hand. On 28 Feb 2015 evening there was another meeting consisting of Pentecostal and other Christian leaders. I spoke about the dire need of personal prayer and evangelization.

On 01 Mar 2015 I left Khulna to Benapol the Border town to enter into Indian border by train. There is no improvement in the working of Railways. Bro James again accompanied me to the Border Town. After entering into Indian Border I caught a local train to Cantonment Railway Station in the Calcutta City. Bro Gomez whom I met in the flight from Bombay to Calcutta received and took me to his home for lunch. I used the opportunity to share gospel to his parents. In the night I reached Howrah Railway Station on my further journey to Bombay. On 03 Mar 2015 morning I reached safely Bombay and gave thanks unto my Master Lord Jesus Christ for His immense love and security given to me during my gospel trip.

When I left Dharabasail the believers and Pastors virtually broke into tears requesting me to come again with a team from India. Unfortunately nobody wants to visit this most poor and underdeveloped country due to reasons best known to them whereas they are very eager to visit Gulf and other Western countries. The so called people of God, especially the Pentecostals lost the burden for the perishing souls in the backward countries in the world.

BANGLADESH is one of the most backward countries in the world where education standard is very less. The vast majority of the people speak Bangla and they do not know any other language. The Pastors and Brothers who read this report are requested to shed the personal facilities and go to backward countries to suffer with suffering people and reach gospel without any delay. The Pentecostals in Bangladesh want more people and vast resources to reach gospel to the unreached areas.

There is ABOUT ONLY 1 PERCENTAGE OF BELIEVERS IN BANGLADESH OUT OF 16 CRORES OF PEOPLE. I request you all to kindly pray with tears and send your dear ones with available resources to Bangladesh before it is too late. My gracious Lord Jesus enabled me to visit NEPAL AND PAKISTAN before few years, I earnestly request you all your valuable and strong prayers that I visit them again and also other neglected countries of South East Asian countries where percentage of believers is almost nothing.

St. Thomas came to India 2000 years ago and laid down his precious life in Madras where I had been in different occasions. Let us shed our slothfulness and run forward with gospel even at the cost of our precious lives.

Lord Jesus told His disciples “Mathew 6:29-20

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

I stand up with the abundant grace, power of the Holy Spirit and the prayers of the saints. May God bless you all.

With prayers and love

Servant of Lord Jesus Christ

Dr Thomas Mathai, AOG, Bombay.
