EVERY RIVER HAS TO FLOW (Novella-14)   - Krishna

Picture

“I want you to have everything. But more than that, I want both of you to be with me always.”

“But grandpa had said that if you do not want to come and stay with us there, you can come there whenever you like to see us.”

So that is it.  Their father did not change at all. And his father knows that it will not be possible to me to live with their father.

She looked at the children. They were eagerly waiting for her final answer. And their faces revealed that they want to stay there and enjoy all the modern facilities and luxuries. And their question still rang in her ears.

So you do not want us to have all comforts?

She thought for some time. And then took the decision.

She has no right to stop them from the life they want. After all, it is their father’s home. And the love and care of grandpa will always be available there. How can I stop them for my own happiness?

She said: “If you desire so much to live there, I will not object.”

While saying it, she was very careful to hide her emotions from them.

“Our good mother. Good good mother.” They said together kissing her cheeks.

“Shall we telephone grandpa now?” Asked the elder girl.

So everything is arranged!
“O.K. Let me now go and tell your grandpa here. You go and telephone.” She walked and then turned and said to them as if having remembered something just now. “After going, will you not come here?”

She lost all control. Her voice deceived her. And she hugged them closely, tightly.

The children had never expected such a question. They stood thinking for a moment and then the elder girl said:
“We will come mother. We will come.”
“O.K.” She patted their shoulders lovingly and turned.
And within an hour, they left the house.

In the beginning, they used to come frequently. But later they could not, being in higher classes. But they telephoned her at least once during a week.

Gradually, she began to feel a sort of nervousness. The children are enjoying all luxuries which they want, and they forgot their mother, since she is not a luxury to them!

She went on thinking about them. How can they forget her? Or is it that their father had poisoned their minds in such a way that they began to hate her?

What to do?
